INCOMING

The Conservatorio di Musica “Luca Marenzio” welcomes incoming students, teachers and staff who wish to enrol in our courses or spend their Erasmus+ study exchange or traineeship period with us.

Course Admission

Deadline to send applications for incoming students is:

  • For First Semester or the whole Academic Year: –/–/—- (updating)
  • For Second Semester: –/–/—- (updating)

Students who wish to attend the 1st or 2nd Cycle at our Conservatorio must submit an application between 1st April and 31st July of each year, and attend a competitive audition on a date to be decided in September.

 

Requirements for the application

  • Erasmus Application Form with photo
  • Learning agreement in draft
  • Curriculum vitae
  • A recording is required for performers (cd/dvd or link, min. 15 minutes); composers are requested to send min. 2 scores

Academic year

At the Conservatorio di Musica “Luca Marenzio” the academic year is organized in:

  • First Semester: 2nd  November – End of February
  • Second Semester: beginning of March – 2nd  week of July
  • Winter exam period: beginning of February – beginning of March
  • Summer exam period: Half of June – Half of July

Christmas holidays from December 23rd to January 6th
Other holidays: November 1st , December 8th, February 15th, April 25th, May 1st, June 2nd. Educational activities are suspended from 15th to 30th of August.

Study plans

The Conservatorio di  Musica “Luca Marenzio” is an Institution of Higher Education (IHE) with an Erasmus+ Charter (ECHE), which offers 1st and 2nd Cycle programmes and awards Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

The curricula are based on European standards and the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). With the system of academic credits, to be awarded a 1st Cycle bachelor’s degree, students need to have accumulated 180 credits within a three-year period, while to be awarded a 2nd Cycle master’s degree, students need to have acquired 120 credits within two years.

Language

All lessons and courses are given in Italian. Although most of our teachers speak English or other languages, you must have at least an appropriate knowledge of the Italian language: the recommended language level is B1. We offer Italian Language Courses during 1st term.

Insurance

The Conservatorio di Musica “Luca Marenzio” provides both civil liability and health insurance to all participants into projects approved by the Institutional Bodies.

Visas

The Conservatorio di Musica “Luca Marenzio” provides assistance related to obtaining visas for incoming mobile participants.

Accomodation

If you are an Extra UE student, you have to apply through your local Italian Consulate/Embassy.
Dear Incoming Student,
The Conservatorio di Musica “Luca Marenzio” has an high rate of foreign students. Every year many students from European as well as Extra-UE countries apply for the entry exam as full time students.
Foreigner students may apply for a full-time study period for the Triennio di primo livello (First level study programme – Bachelor degree), or for the Biennio di secondo livello (Second level study programme – Master degree).
Our staff will guide you in finding accommodation, according to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. Whatever you need don’t hesitate to ask us.
